Savannah's Restaurant recently was honored with the Wine Spectator Magazine's Award of Excellence for its wine list and Chef Matt Parkins' new American cuisine, the restaurant recently announced.

The Huntington restaurant, which has received this award every year since 1999, features more than 300 wines.

It emphasizes wines from California and France and more than 30 wines are available by the glass.

The Wine Spectator Restaurant awards program recognizes the nation's best restaurants for wine lovers, the restaurant's news release states.

The Award of Excellence is given to restaurants that exhibit a well-chosen selection of quality wines for a thematic match to the menu in both price and style, the news release continues.

The magazine classified Savannah's wine prices as "inexpensive," and noted the restaurant has a five star average customer rating.

The award will be published in the Aug. 31 issue of Wine Spectator Magazine.
