Junior Rangers program offered for younger Boy Scouts

Posted: Updated:

The Boy Scouts are coming in from all ages and there's plenty of things to do, even for the younger guys.

At Canyon Rim Visitor Center, boys ages 6-14 can participate in the "Junior Rangers" program which includes 10 activities and a reward for completing it. New River Gorge Park Ranger Shirley Grant explained.

They learn a lot about this park and they also learn about other parks. One of the activities in the book has about 4 or 5 National Park sites and they fill in the blanks and it tells them where those parks are," Grant said.

For completing the program the little scouts receive a patch and badge.
