Experience WV app launched

Posted: Updated:

A new mobile application has launched, highlighting things to do in wild, wonderful West Virginia.

Representative Nick Rahall said as thousands of boy scouts come to Southern West Virginia, this was the perfect time to launch the app.

The app, from the Third District Accelerator program, is called "Experience West Virginia."   It highlights a series of workshops and performances throughout the region during the 2013 National Scout Jamboree.

In a press release, Rahall said, "My message today is short and sweet.  The Jamboree represents a premiere opportunity to showcase West Virginia with the scouts and their families.   The Internet is going to prove to be a valuable instrument for all of Appalachia to market itself.  That's all the more important that we here locally are fully on board.   With the advent of smart phones and tablets, we have entered a brand new chapter in the information age.  Business better fall in line or get left behind.   Utilizing resources from the Third District Accelerator Grant, this app represents social media marketing at its finest."
