    In Raleigh County, a woman is miraculously not seriously injured, after her car rolls over on I-77 around 6:30 Wednesday night.An eyewitness tells us the woman was driving in the left lane on the northbound side. She suddenly veered off the road, over corrected,then slammed into the side of a tractor trailer. The car rolled multiple times before coming to a stop on it's roof.The witness says two small dogs ran out of the car. Moments later, the woman crawled out and ran after one of the dogs....

     Emotions were high in Montcalm on Thursday following a shooting. Neighbors were not surprised to hear of the shooting in their area, because they say, violence is unfortunately all too common in their neighborhood.

THURMOND -

You can tour the historic downtown area of Thurmond on July 27 with the National Park Service.

This is one of several ranger guided programs in the area National Park Service sites this week.

All programs are free unless otherwise noted.   You're encouraged to wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes for all guided hikes.   Water, snacks, camera and binoculars are other useful tools to bring along.

July 23 - 28, 2013

Ranger on the Rock

6:30 p.m. - 7. 45 p.m.   Meet at Grandview's Main Overlook.  Come and go as you please for this informal program with a ranger at one of the best views of the New River Gorge.   Enjoy the scenery and discuss area natural and cultural history.

Saturday, July 27, 2013:

Bluestone Walk

10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.   Meet at the base of Pipestem Resort State Park tramway, 2 mile walk.   Walk within Bluestone National Scenic River for a mile and return.  Along the way, enjoy the flora and fauna of the area and discover regional history.   Bring $2 for the return tram ride.
