PRINCETON -

A Mercer County business is offering a silver proof commemorative coin celebrating West Virginia's 150th anniversary.

The Bronze Look said the coin was locally designed by the graphics team at the business.  It is being minted by Northwest Territorial Mint, the same company that makes the Bronze Star medal for the U.S. Military.

The coin features several official state symbols such as the rhododendron and the black bear, with the state motto: Montani Semper Liberi ( Mountaineers are always free ) on one side.  The other side features The Bronze Look logo and 35 stars circling the edge of the coin, representing the 35th state to be admitted to the union.   The coin is 99.9% pure silver and can be reserved at a pre-release price of $60.   With a limited production of only 1863 coins, customers are encouraged to reserve theirs early.   The Bronze Look reserves the right to limit quantities sold per customer.

The coin will be housed in a leatherette presentation case, encased in an airtight plastic case with a numbered certificate of authenticity.

To reserve coins, people should send a check for $60 per coin to The Bronze Look, 311 Historic Mercer Street, Princeton, WV 24740.   Checks will be held until the coin is available for distribution.  The coins are expected to be available around Labor Day.

Those who would like to more information about these beautiful coins should call The Bronze Look to reserve them, at (304) 425-5005 or visit at 311 Historic Mercer Street in Princeton.
