McDowell County deputies say they were trying to conduct a traffic stop on Monday, just before 1 p.m. near the Panther area.  That's when they say they were able to determine that Ricky Monroe Johnson from Panther was D.U.I.

Deputies say they found a mobile meth lab, actively being operated in the vehicle.  The meth was in the process of cooking in the vehicle, according to deputies.

Deputies say the suspect stole a vehicle from the McDowell County Sheriff's Department.  West Virginia State Police troopers and deputies chased Johnson.

Johnson is facing charges of operating a drug lab, D.U.I, fleeing, fleeing while D.U.I., and obstructing an officer.
