A man died Saturday at the 2013 National Scout Jamboree, according to Mike Patrick, Director of Operations for the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Fayette County, W.Va.

The man died due to a heart attack, according to Jimmy Gianato with the West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. He said he believed the man was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America.

Mike Patrick, Director of Operations for the Summit Bechtel Reserve said in a statement Monday evening that they tried to revive the man, "Everyone did everything they could." Patrick could not confirm the man's name or where he was from. He did say that the victim suffered from "medical conditions."

National BSA Jamboree Director Larry Pritchard said they have been in touch with the man's family. "Emergency medical staff did a great job and responded right away and conducted CPR and we got him up to Plateau (medical center in Oak Hill, W.Va.) where they continued additional efforts. They weren't able to revive him," said Pritchard.

The man was walking through an area called Camp C, on his way to the stadium on Saturday for the concert.

"He was staying in Camp E where all of our staff is living," said Pritchard.

Records show the man was active with his council. There have been no other deaths, according to Pritchard.
