BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV (AP) — A hotel and spa in Morgan County is going on the auction block.

The 65-room Country Inn in Berkeley Springs is scheduled to be sold to the highest bidder during a foreclosure auction on Aug. 28.

The Country Inn's owner, 5042 Holdings Limited, closed the hotel May 5. Court records show that two days later, a federal bankruptcy judge approved the company's motion to convert its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case to Chapter 7.

Matt Hurley of Hurley Auctions tells The Journal of Martinsburg that the auction has been listed on only a couple of websites and hasn't been officially advertised. But he's already receiving calls about it.

The hotel was built in 1932 and originally was called the Park View Inn.
