A-ROD WAITING GAME:  Baseball fans across the country are anxiously awaiting a decision from Major League Baseball regarding the fate of Alex Rodriguez's career.

He is said to be negotiating a settlement with the MLB but it's still possible he could be banned for life if he doesn't accept a lengthy suspension.  The decision could come down at any time and 8 other players also face suspension but not as severe as A-Rod.

RILEY COOPER RACIAL SLUR AFTERMATH:  Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper was under fire for using a racial slur while in an argument at a Kenny Chesney concert.  He came out with a public apology, was fined by the club and according to Michael Vick has been widely forgiven by the team.  It was announced Thursday that Cooper will be sent to a sensitivity camp and counseling over the incident.

COACHES VOTE BAMA:  The Pre-season coaches' poll for college football is out.  It wasn't a big surprise to many that Alabama was ranked #1.  The Crimson Tide and Nick Saban will open their season with Virginia Tech in less than a month but in the mean time assistant football coach and Frank Beamer's son Shane Beamer will stay very busy.

He announced his son's birth via Twitter Wednesday- @CoachSBEAMER "We have a new member of #HokieNation. Hunter Stephen Beamer.  All he wants for 1 month bday is to #beatbama."

They will get their shot to beat last year's national champions in Atlanta August 31st.
