Liberty football has high expectations for 2013.

There is good news for the Liberty football team. Many players from the 5-5 2012 season will be returning.

"We have a lot of people coming back, even though we lost a lot of people, we have a lot of guys coming back. Skill-wise, we're there," said Junior Tre-Shaun McDowell.

Retention, leads to expectations. The seniors already announced their hope for the season.

"Have a winning season, make it to the playoffs," said Colten Taylor.

Ricky Talley added, "I'd like to make it to the playoffs."

Many players that saw minutes last year were only freshman and sophomores.

"These guys are young, but they are willing to learn, and working real hard, and I'm pretty impressed with them so far," head coach Jeff Alexander said.

The upper-classmen, know what they need to do to set a good example for the new guys.

"Do everything right, and 100% so they know its not right to slack off at all," said Taylor

The Raiders will put their experience to the test August 30th when they take on Westside.
