Jury selection will begin Sept. 24 for a former Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney who is accused of distributing a controlled substance.

James Casimiro III recently pleaded not guilty to the two-count indictment charging him with distributing Oxycodone in exchange for $300.

Casimiro was suspended without pay when he was arrested. He was fired Aug. 8.

Following jury selection, trial will take place before U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey in the federal courthouse in Elkins.
