West Virginia Wesleyan College welcomed its largest incoming freshman class in 10 years this past weekend. A total of 517 students and their families joined the campus community in its orientation festivities Saturday and Sunday on the Buckhannon campus, college officials said.

The large freshman class helped produce the highest total campus enrollment in five years, and it comes from the second-largest applicant pool in the school's history. The class's average GPA is a 3.46 with an average ACT score of 22 and an average three-part SAT score of 1490. This class comes from 26 states and 11 countries, yields a 19 percent diversity rate and has 150 Promise scholars.
