Summers County football preview- New coach, new confidence.

SUMMERS COUNTY -

Summers county went to the playoffs in 2012 and though the off season brought a new coach the team says not much has changed.

"It's really the same but we have more of a work ethic, we work a lot harder than last year," said senior Isaiah Brown.

The Bobcats are coming off a successful season, and this year Nate Tanner will be leading the pack

"They've been well accepting of it because I've been around them the past 3 years so there hasn't been a lot of new stuff and they're used to me so we have a good relationship," Tanner said.

Quarterback TJ Smith added "He's the perfect guy for the job, to me I feel like the whole team and the community is blessed to have a guy like him as the head coach."

The seniors have a long history together.

"We've been together since the 8th grade pretty much, we won a championship in the eighth grade, we know we have chemistry, we are all friends, we've known each other for forever," explained senior Erik Lindsey.

This years team is extremely close-knit.

Brown said, "We're basically brothers, each one of us, the whole team. We call each other family every on facebook, twitter, anything. We're beyond close."

The Bobcat family will be on the hunt to make another playoff run, and one thing is for sure- they're ready to get started.

A confident Smith added, "Get ready, fasten your seat belt and get your popcorn ready because it's going to be a fun ride."

The Bobcats open their season against PikeView August 30th.
