CHARLESTON, (AP) — The domed ceiling of the West Virginia Senate chamber could be in line for a touch-up, or more.

Workers have removed desks from the chamber and lowered the chandelier for a cleaning.

Assistant Senate Clerk Lee tells the Daily Mail it has been 15 years since the ceiling was last inspected. Some sections are peeling, but it's not clear if the ceiling will require a paint job or major plaster work.

Next week, workers are due back to begin building scaffoldings to answer that question.

Until the inspection is completed, Cassis said it's not known how much the work will cost.
