Steubenville Teen Charged in Stabbing Death Will Be Tried as an Adult

A teen charged with murder for allegedly stabbing another teen to death on July 25 of this year in Steubenville will now be tried as an adult.

Jaylontay Johnson's case was bound over to the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas on Thursday afternoon. Judge Samuel Kerr found probable cause in the killing of Demetrius Thomas and set Johnson's bail at $500,000.

The murder occurred in the alley between Lawson Avenue and Union Avenue in Steubenville. A witness took the stand on Thursday and said they heard multiple cries for help from the victim.
