A 12-year-old died at a local football game and now the community is mourning his loss.

The boy was watching the game. 59News found out what happened at Wyoming East High School Friday night.

"It was really sad. It broke my heart. When you have kids and you're at a game with them you don't expect that sort of thing to happen," Mullens community member Selena Collins said.

Wyoming County Emergency Dispatchers confirm 12 year old Kaimyn Anderson's death on Friday night. What lead up to his death is still under investigation by the Wyoming County Sheriff's Department.

Selena Collins works at the Little General convenience stores in Mullens and has ties to Anderson's mother.

"The mother comes in here almost every day and we know her I just didn't know it was her child until someone told me. It just really hit this community with a shock," Collins said.

The death of a child is never easy for neighbors and family friends of a close knit area to hear.

"The customers come in with red eyes from crying. their kids went to school with them we all know the boy, it's been a real shock here," she told us.

The community shows their love and their support for Anderson and his family. And now the community is remembering Anderson, and trying to move forward.

"I really think this community will gather together and pull for this family and help them in any way they can. The churches and friends and stores, everyone because this child had a lot of friends and has a lot of people who will reach out and help the family during this sad time," Collins said.
