Bramwell residents upset over planned ATV resort

Posted: Updated:

A planned ATV resort near one Mercer County town is drawing oppositions from residents.

They said it could disrupt their neighborhood. Coal Camp ATV Resort is planning to build 50 cottages on a 30-acre site in the Shinbrier Mountain area.

Future plans include a restaurant and an ATV wash. A resident of Shinbrier Mountain told 59News his concerns.

"We're a lot of homeowners and senior citizens and we are not into the idea of having 50 or 100 atv's up here. If they want to put them somewhere else that's fine. We have horses, we have senior citizens to get up and off this mountain and emergency vehicles have to get up here," Shinbrier mountain resident Ronald Guillon.

Other residents are excited for the opportunity of visitors and jobs they said the resort will bring to Bramwell.
