West Virginia showcased a new quarterback Saturday in their 41-7 win over Georgia State.

Redshirt freshman Ford Childress made Mountaineers happy with a solid debut completing 25 of 41 passes for 359 yards.

He had 3 touchdowns including a 23 yard toss to Daikiel Shorts in the end zone.

With over 600 yards of total offense the young Q-B was pretty happy with his teams performance.

"I thought it went pretty well, had some balls that I want to take back but I thought overall we played pretty well," Childress said in a post game interview.

The Mountaineers will travel to Baltimore Saturday to take on undefeated Maryland.

Concord football started off their season knocking off a ranked Lenoir Rhyne squad.

Saturday they continued to roll with a win over West Virginia State University.

It's the Mountain Lions 3rd year under Coach Garin Justice and they're off to a 2-0 start this season after a 36-6 win over West Virginia State on Saturday. Senior Jake Lilly had another impressive performance with 13 tackles and Tiko Henderson contributed 143 receiving yards.

Concord will face Bowie State University on Saturday.
