WVU's new QB debut, Concord picks up second win

West Virginia showcased a new quarterback Saturday in their 41-7 win over Georgia State.

Redshirt freshman Ford Childress made Mountaineers happy with a solid debut completing 25 of 41 passes for 359 yards.

He had 3 touchdowns including a 23 yard toss to Daikiel Shorts in the end zone.

With over 600 yards of total offense the young Q-B was pretty happy with his teams performance.

"I thought it went pretty well, had some balls that I want to take back but I thought overall we played pretty well," Childress said in a post game interview.

The Mountaineers will travel to Baltimore Saturday to take on undefeated Maryland.

Concord football started off their season knocking off a ranked Lenoir Rhyne squad.

Saturday they continued to roll with a win over West Virginia State University.
