Alfred Anson pleads guilty in shaken baby case

A Raleigh County man was in court on Tuesday facing charges of child abuse.

Alfred Anson, 20, pleaded guilty to Child Abuse Causing Serious Bodily Injury in front of Judge John Kirkpatrick at 9 a.m.  Back in May, Anson shook his three-month-old child causing injuries that required the infant to be taken to Charleston Area Medical Center.  Raleigh County Prosecutors said the child has made a stunning recovery.

Anson was sentenced to serve 2 to 10 years in the penitentiary.  The judge suspended that sentence and instead sentenced Anson as a youthful offender.  He will therefore go to the Anthony Center until he completes that program, which is 6-months to 2-years.
