Fayette County deputies arrest Matthew Fox on meth lab charges

An investigation into a meth lab that began on Tuesday, Sept. 10 lead to an arrest in just under a week.

Deputies arrested Matthew Dale Fox, 43, of Meadow Bridge on Monday.  He is charged with Operating a Clandestine Methamphetamine Laboratory.  Deputies said that the arrest was made after the received tips on the Sheriff's Office web site and at the Sheriff's Office facebook page

Fox became the target of a manhunt on Thursday. Deputies said that he ran off from a home in Meadow Bridge on Tuesday, Sept. 10 when they were called to search the residence.  Investigators had received tips that there was a meth lab located at the home.  During the search, deputies found a "crude methamphetamine lab" inside an abandoned building.

"The quick arrest in connection with this incident is directly attributable to the tips and leads that we received from the public," said Sheriff Steve Kessler. "Members of the public at the eyes and ears of the Sheriff's office, and we are grateful for all the information that we receive."

Fox was arraigned and released on a $1,500 bond.  The incident is still under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office and the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force.
