A pair of marines who are walking across the United State to support the Wounded Warrior Project stopped in Beckley on Wednesday.  Southern West Virginia is home to one of the two, Chris Senopole of Daniels.

On Thursday, Congressman Nick Rahall (D-W.Va.) expressed heartfelt congratulations to Chris and Adam Shatarsky, who served with Senopole in the same Marine unit, as they stopped by Beckley along their 2,700-mile walk

"I congratulate these American patriots for their steadfast commitment to their brothers and sisters in arms," said Rahall, who provided the two men Certificates of Congressional Recognition.  "These fine veterans display a passion for liberty and a desire to give back to their fellow Americans still in service that is indicative of a true heroic spirit.  We owe them so much for the infinite freedoms that we enjoy and I commend them for bringing important focus to the needs of wounded warriors."

Senopole and Shatarsky began their walk at Camp Pendleton on June 15, and are targeting an arrival in Washington, D.C., by Oct. 1.
