Toy hand gun used during staged robbery in Charleston, WV

CHARLESTON, WV -

A man and woman were arrested for staging a robbery in Charleston, WV.

The robbery happened around 10:30 a.m. Friday at Barney's Sports Bar, located at 1007 Bigley Avenue.

According to a criminal complaint issued by the Kanawha County Magistrate Court, Dustin Aaron Crouch, 19, along with Ingrid Taylor, 32, were both arrested and charged with grand larceny after staging a robbery.

The report initially came in as Crouch coming into the bar and aiming a firearm at Taylor, who was working in the bar at the time.  Crouch then demanded money from the back room safe.

Crouch fled the scene with $1,557 in cash.

Both Crouch and Taylor were interviewed by police.  Police found that Taylor had met with Crouch the day before the robbery to plan the staged event.  According to police, they planned  to split the money.

Police found the firearm used in the staged robbery was a toy hand gun.

Both Crouch and Taylor are being held in the South Central Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.
