Raleigh county rescue dog set to make TV debut

Posted: Updated:
Operation Underdog is sending a foster dog named Rosie to the Puppy Bowl in New York City next month. The rescue group held a special fundraising event Sunday with the majority of the proceeds going towards travel expenses to appear on an annual event publicized on Animal Planet.

Rosie is a 4 month old foster dog and a "Rosie Legacy" pup memorialized after a previous Operation Underdog pup that passed away of distemper. Rosie was found abandoned on the side of a local road and is fostered with her two sisters by Elizabeth Raney, one of the founders of Operation Underdog.

The rest of the money will help other rescue dogs get medical care and find foster homes.
The fundraising event took place at the Tractor Supply located in Beckley and consisted of games for pets, raffles, and food.
