On Thursday, schools across West Virginia participated in a national event Thursday to raise awareness about physical fitness.

It's called JAM World Record day and it's a campaign to rally everyone to pause and take just a minute for a fitness break on September 26.

This campaign is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of making activity a daily habit, ensuring kids learn healthy habits at a young age and schools have access to quality physical education programs.

2012 was the first year for the event and West Virginia came in number one around the country.

This year, teachers said they're hoping to keep the title.
