West Virginia's national parks, visitor centers, and National Park Service campsites will close tomorrow if Congress can't approve a federal budget today.

At midnight tonight, if a decision is not made the visitor centers will not be open for business Tuesday and campers will receive a two-day notice to pack their bags.

National Park Service Public Information Officer Robin Snyder said closing the park at the New River Gorge National River would be extremely difficult because of it's size and all the public entrances to the park.

Snyder said October is one of the busiest months for visitors to the New River Gorge National Park and they would hate to have to turn away visitors.

Snyder said the National Park Headquarters in Fayette County has been doing preparation work in case a government shut down takes place. For example, alerting organizations about a possible cancellation of any event that is taking place on park grounds in the next few days or weeks.

She also noted that commercial rafting would not be affected by the park closing.

National Park Service employee's are told to show up to work tomorrow and in the event of a shut-down they will have four hours to close the park.
