---West Virginia pulled out a very impressive 30 to 21 win over a ranked Oklahoma State team at home on Saturday.

Quarterback Clint Trickett started for the first time for the Mountaineers and despite two interceptions Trickett finished 24 for 50 and 309 yards.

Ishmael Banks had an impressive pick-6, returning the interception 58 yards.

Darwin Cook's interception in the 4th quarter sealed the victory, and after the win Dana Holgerson was pretty happy with his team.

"You know you can look at stats or whatever it is, but the thing is our team bought into just getting out there and playing ball, and that's what they did it, was a heck of a ball game," said Holgerson.

The Mountaineers are now 3-2 and 1-1 in the Big 12. They will take on Baylor this Saturday.

---Geno Smith's game didn't fair as well as his alma maters as the Jets fell to the Titans in a somewhat embarrassing performance by the rookie.

Smith had 4 turnovers in the loss includinga behind the back attempt that resulted in a Tennessee touchdown.

Despite the 2 interceptions and 2 fumbles he was 23 of 34 for 289 yards and a touchdown. It's still early in the season but he knows he has to improve.

"We had one of those games where not much went right, me in particular, I put the ball on the ground way too many times. I keep stressing that I have to improve but I mean it's got to happen eventually," said Smith.

The Jets are now 2-2 and will have a Monday night game against the Falcons next week.

---Tuesday the Pirates will have their first playoff game in 21 years. Monday, fans had a rally in Market Square in Pittsburgh. Allegheny County and the city of Pittsburgh declared it "Black and Gold Day" and the Pirate Parrot and team officials made special visit to the fans.

The Buccos will take on the Cincinnati Reds Tuesday is the highly anticipated Wild Card game.
