Chili night features many participants, booths, and a variety of entertainment for the entire family.

It tops off a busy day for Beckley, which began with the half-marathon and the Rocket Boys Festival.

Panels of celebrity judges including Homer Hickam, will select their favorite chili in five categories.

"In my opinion, what makes the best chili is my EMS Chief, whatever she puts in it, it's amazing," said Rick Morrison, Fire Chief with the Ghent Volunteer Fire Department.

"For me it's gotta have a lot of meat, sorry vegetarians," said John McKimmon, Pastor of Beckley Presbyterian Church.

People also got to enjoy musical entertainment and carnival rides.

This is the 23rd annual chili night.
