Kanawha youth observe 4-H Week

Posted: Updated:

Kanawha County 4-H celebrated National 4-H Week recently with a picnic at Camp Virgil Tate. The celebration will continue with a clover campaign program at the Tractor Supply in Belle. Until Oct. 19, customers can purchase a $1 clover at the checkout to support 4-H.  Youth involved in 4-H will also host a bake sale at Tractor Supply that day.

"I am very happy that I can offer some of the same opportunities that I had growing up to our area youth today," said Kanawha County 4-H volunteer Jocelyn Crawford.

In Kanawha County, clubs meet in Elkview, Dunbar and South Hills.  A new club will also be starting this year in downtown Charleston.  Youth involved in the program can participate in projects ranging from traditional agriculture, natural sciences, cooking, design, technology, and beyond.  To join 4-H in Kanawha County or for information, call the WVU Kanawha County Extension office at 304-720-9573 or visit Kanawha.ext.wvu.edu.
