The West Virginia Division of Corrections announced on Wednesday that a man who failed to return to the Beckley Correctional Center on Saturday, Oct. 12 is back in custody.

Burford escaped from work release about one month ago and according to a release from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office, was captured in Glasgow, WV on Nov. 13.  The Sheriff's Tactical Operations Patrol (STOP) team was involved in a drug investigation when they received information that Burford was staying on Third Avenue in Glasgow.

Then members of STOP went to the home and found Burford inside trying to hide.  He was taken into custody without incident.  According to the release, Burford was still wearing his Dept. of Corrections T-shirt with his name and DOC number on it.

Officials with the West Virginia Division of Corrections said that Burford is being taking to Mount Olive State Prison.  Burford was in jail for manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance.
