    In Mercer County a man facing disturbing charges involving children appeared in court Friday, August 22 for a plea hearing.Joseph Inman pleaded guilty to 64 counts of possession of material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.He is facing two to ten years and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.He will be sentenced in October.He was arrested back in December of last year.

    A long-time West Virginia State University associate professor and former Yellow Jacket football coach has been inducted into his high school's sports hall of fame.

PARKERSBURG, WV -

West Virginia University at Parkersburg has added 13 full-time faculty members. 

A recent luncheon at the school's culinary academy celebrated and welcomed them, as well as recognized full-time faculty members who are working toward their doctoral degrees.

New faculty members include Lisa Baker, instructor of early childhood/child development; Jacqueline Barron, instructor of criminal justice; Chad Crumbaker, instructor of criminal justice; Stacey Greenup, instructor of nursing; Mary Hetrick, assistant professor of biology; Joseph Hunt, instructor of welding; Valerie Keinath, instructor of geology and physical science; Wesley Kendall, assistant professor of legal studies; Larry Muller, assistant professor of business administration; Ruth Porter, instructional specialist, surgical technology; Hans Straight, instructional specialist, diversified agriculture; Rhett Wharton, instructor of criminal justice; and Tracy Wooten, instructor of business administration.

The 13 WVU Parkersburg faculty members now working on doctoral degrees include Wooten; Aaron Crites, assistant professor of history; Dianne Davis, associate professor of business; Lisa Flowers-Clements, assistant professor/coordinator of developmental education; Kathy Frum, associate professor of nursing; MaryBeth Held, instructor of speech; Jeff Holland, assistant professor of business and management; Torie Jackson, assistant professor of journalism; Steve Morgan, business and economics division chairman; Allison Sayre, assistant professor of nursing; Stephanie Smith-Stout, instructor of nursing; Stacey Watkins, assistant professor of nursing; and Amy Wolfe, instructor of education. 

Anthony Underwood, vice president for student services, is working toward his doctoral degree. Faculty members Rose Beebe, David Lancaster, Melissa Spivy and Cynthia Gissy all have earned their doctoral degrees within the past three years.
