WEST LIBERTY, WV -

West Liberty University Development Director Angela Zambito-Hill has gained accreditation as a fundraising executive by Certified Fund Raising Executive International.

In order to achieve certification, candidates must submit applications and pass rigorous written examinations. The application works on a point system broken down into four categories: education, professional practice, professional performance and service. CFREs also have agreed to uphold accountability standards.

CFRE International offers the only recognized baseline credential for philanthropic fundraising executives and supports fundraising professionals to aspire to the highest standards of professional competence and ethical practice in serving the philanthropic sector. The National Commission for Certifying Agencies oversees CFRE International's credentialing.

Zambito-Hill has worked in the Department of Institutional Advancement at WLU since 2010. She began her career as development officer, then became director of major gifts and rising to development director last fall.

Prior to joining West Liberty, she served as director of development for Catholic Charities West Virginia, part of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston. Before that, she worked as a marketing researcher for Inclinix in Wilmington, N.C. Early in her professional career, she worked in development at Oglebay Institute in Wheeling.

Zambito-Hill is a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University, where she earned bachelor of arts degrees in French and history in 2005. She serves on the boards of the Wheeling YWCA and the Sisters of St. Joseph Health and Wellness Foundation. She also is a member of the Oglebay Institute's museum committee.

A resident of Wheeling, she is a member of the Leadership West Virginia Class of 2013.
