ARNETT -

A new twist in the case of a deadly shooting in Raleigh County.

The shooting happened Oct. 11 in the Arnett area of the county.

Raleigh County sheriff's deputies said the investigation determined the victim and suspect in this case knew each other and had intentionally met that evening.

The victim, Johnny Nile Condia, 77, of Dameron, was found lying in the roadway on Saxon Bolt Road.

Deputies said it appears the defendant intended to rob the victim when the shooting happened.   The initial report shows the victim told deputies his 2005 Toyota Corolla was taken after the shooting.

Deputies say it was initially believed the suspect, Mickey Roger Daniel, Jr., 29, of Edwight, may have been acting with another person.   That no longer appears to be the case.

The investigation is ongoing.
