    HINTON -- Summers County High School held a student versus teacher basketball game on Thursday, April 24 to benefit a local child battling leukemia. Four year old Annalyn Lilly was diagnosed with the disease this year. Dinsmore & Shohl has hired Andrew T. Kirkner in the firm's Charleston office. He's practicing in the corporate department.

Prior to joining Dinsmore, Kirkner served as per-diem counsel and intern for Senate President Jeffery V. Kessler, D-Marshall, during the 2013 legislative session. 

He spent time as the Scoutmaster program director for the Blue Ridge Mountains Council of the Boy Scouts of America where he organized programs for scout leaders attending Camp Powhatan. 

Kirkner interned at Warburton Law Offices in Pulaski, Va.

He earned his degree from West Virginia University College of Law and his bachelor's degree from Virginia's Bridgewater College.
