Students from Sixth to Eighth Grade are doing their part in the fight against Breast Cancer.

The student council and wellness council at Park Middle School teamed up on Thursday to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The event is being held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  The walk is being held in the gym because of the drop in temperatures.

Students paid $1 for the walk, which was held at three different times during the day.  Eighth Graders walked from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m., Seventh Graders walked from 9:45 - to 10:15 a.m. and Sixth Graders walk from 1:15 to 1:45 p.m. The first lap of each walk was the "Survivor" lap that was lead by faculty members who have beaten breast cancer.

Other fundraising events include the sale of pink ribbons and runner's bibs.  The bibs have the name of the person who the student is walking for.
