Beckley Police arrest one on drug charges, more charges pending

Beckley Police find drugs and guns in an investigation that lead them to a pair of homes on Brooks St.

The Beckley Police Special Enforcement Unit searched two homes on Thursday as the result of an investigation into drug deals.  Police officers received tips that people were selling illegal narcotics out of both homes.

When the search warrant was executed, officers found around 4.4 ounces of crack cocaine and 2.9 ounces of marijuana.  The street value of the drugs is estimated to be $13,000.  Police also seized four guns, including an AK-47 Assault Rifle, a .22 caliber revolver and two .40 caliber semi-automatic handguns.  There was also $2,600 in cash found at the homes.

Tyrone Long, 31, was arrested.  He is charged with two counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver cocaine and marijuana.  Long is being held in the Southern Regional Jail on a $250,000 bond.  Detectives said that charges against another person are pending.
