    Crews fought a house fire in Fayette County Saturday evening for several hours. 911 Dispatchers said the call came in of a house fire on Paint Creek Road near Pax around 6:30 p.m. Pax Fire Department and Bradley-Prosperity Fire Department responded along with several other crews. We're told no one was inside the home when the fire happened.

West Liberty University will celebrate Halloween on the hilltop with a brand new set of lights.

The school will light its football field for the first time during an event dubbed "Light it Up West Lib," sponsored by Main Street Bank.

The university will play its first night game at 7 p.m. Oct. 31 at its historic Russek Field against the University of Charleston Golden Eagles.

West Liberty is one of six Mountain East Conference members with a lighted football stadium. The lighting system was made possible through a $500,000 donation from alumnus and donor Gary E. West and his wife, Flip. The Wests also gave a donation for the field's MondoTurf playing surface.

"These lights are bright enough to meet regional NCAA television standards, and we are thrilled to have them," WLU Athletic Director Jim Watson said. "We invite everyone in the community to join us for this special night game."

The 2013 season will mark the Hilltoppers' first season of competition as a charter member of the NCAA's newest Divison II all-sports league, the Mountain East Conference. Visit www.hilltopperssports.com for details.
