Deputies are investigating after a body was found by two people walking in Harper Heights on Old Turnpike Road in Raleigh County.  The body was found Wednesday afternoon, according to investigators.  Authorities were still on the scene Wednesday night.

Cleo Moore lives in Harper Heights.

"It's shocking. I've been out here 50 something years and we've never had anything like this to ever happen," said Moore.  His first cousins own the area near where the body was found.

The area was blocked by crime scene tape several hours after the body was found, as investigators worked to collect evidence.

"It is under investigation at this point. We're working with the state medical examiner's office," said Lt. Larry Lilly with the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department.
