The Charleston Light Opera Guild and the Clay Center will present the inspiring story of endurance and the human spirit, "Les Miserables," on several dates in early November.

The first of six performances of the world's longest-running musical will begin at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Maier Foundation Performance Hall.

The complete schedule of performances includes: 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1-2; 2 p.m. Nov. 3; 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7-8; and 2 p.m. Nov. 10.

The performance follows lead character Jean Valjean in the epic tale of passion, sacrifice and redemption set in 19th Century France. The show is based on the Victor Hugo novel of the same name.

The cast includes Ryan Hardiman as Jean Valjean and Chris Terpening as Inspector Javert. The production is under the direction and choreography of Nina Denton Pasinetti.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling 304-561-3570, by visiting www.theclaycenter.org or by stopping in to the Clay Center box office. Visit www.charlestonlightoperaguild.org for details about this and future guild performances.
