BECKLEY -

A routine traffic stop in the City of Beckley leads to an arrest on drug charges.

Aaron Hannah, 35, of Beckley was pulled over on South Kanawha Street on Thursday at 11:30 a.m.  Officers stopped Hannah because of "defective equipment" in the area of the University of Charleston - Beckley.

The officer apparently smelled marijuana, and asked the driver about the odor. The driver admitted to having marijuana in a backpack, which was located on the floor of the backseat.  Officers said that found nearly seven pounds of marijuana, with a street value of $7,000. Hannah was arrested and charged with Possession with intent to deliver.
