CHARLESTON, WV -

The Contractors Association of West Virginia has hired Shannon Louk as its communications/expo manager. Louk will lead the association's communications and public relations efforts in addition to managing the annual West Virginia Construction & Design Exposition, the region's largest trade show for the construction and design industries.

Louk, a native of the Kanawha Valley, has more than a decade of experience in marketing, advertising, conference planning, media planning and public relations. 

Most recently, she was client services manager at The Arnold Agency, a Charleston-area advertising and public relations firm where she worked with clients including Subway and Applebee's. She started her career in marketing at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. 

She has a bachelor's degree from Marshall University, where she majored in management with minors in communications and economics.

The CAWV represents more than 450 businesses and 20,000 employees in the building, highway, industrial and utility contracting industries.
