Sobriety checkpoint to be held in Beaver

The West Virginia State Police continues its efforts to stop drunk drivers and ensure the safety of the motorists in the Mountain State.

Troopers will be set up on Route 19 in Beaver on Friday, Nov. 8.  They will be checking for drunk drivers from 8 p.m. on Friday until 2 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9. 

A release from the West Virginia State Police stated that the purpose of the DUI checkpoint is to deter impaired driving and educate the motoring public about the dangers and consequences of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and drugs.  Troopers asked for help from the community as well.  They are encouraging people to report drunk or intoxicated drivers.
