Deputies with the Wyoming County Sheriff's Department captured a pair of men accused of breaking into a home. Cody Mills and Jeremy Cable, both 31-years-old, were arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014. The men are accused of Daytime Burglary.

On Wednesday, a man who has been in the position to serve and protect for more than two decades, was taken to jail.

Randy Burgess was arraigned in front of Judge H.L. Kirkpatrick.  He was indicted by a special grand jury at the end of October on three counts of Fraud with and Access Device, three counts of Breaking and Entering, one count of Embezzlement and one count of Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer.

According to the indictment, Burgess broke into cruisers belonging to the Sheriff's Department and allegedly stole gas credit cards.  Burgess then reportedly used the cards to make purchases for himself. This all happened after he resigned from the Sheriff's Department on July 9.

During the arraignment, Judge Kirkpatrick revoked Burgess' bond and sent him to jail.  Kirkpatrick told Burgess that since he had spent more than two decades as a law enforcement officer, he should have known better than to break into the cruisers and take the cards.

Burgess had been on bond in a felony Child Abuse case.
