CHARLESTON, WV -

Ruth Lemmon, President of the West Virginia Auto and Truck Dealers Association, was awarded the Adjutant General's Coin on Nov. 7.

The award came in recognition for her support of the West Virginia National Guard's Gold Star and Yellow Ribbon charity events.

Presenting the coin was James A. Hoyer, Major General of the West Virginia Army National Guard.

"It's a tremendous honor," Lemmon said. "Our military give up so much, their families, their jobs, everything – to be in the military.

"My first involvement came with a program that provided stuffed bears that came with a recording (inside) for the deployed, or for the children of the one deployed. It's very nice."

Being involved with the Gold Star and Yellow Ribbon events is very gratifying, Lemmon said.

"Our dealers have been great," she said. "I'm just a facilitator. They write the checks."
