An teacher who was wanted in McDowell County was arrested in North Carolina.

Randall Jared Julian Cassels, 24, was arrested by sheriff's deputies in Union County North Carolina. Cassels is accused of trying to pick up teen girl over the internet.  He is charged with Solicitation of a Minor by Computer. Cassels had been a teacher at River View High School in 2012.

The investigation began on Oct. 31 when a member of the McDowell County Board of Education came to the sheriff's office with information about Cassels.  A female student had told a teacher at River View High School that Cassels had approached her on the internet.  Det. Ron Blevins with the McDowell County Sheriff's Office investigated the case and issued a warrant for Cassels' arrest.

Cassels was working at Piedmont High School in the North Carolina community of Monroe since September. He was reportedly fired following the arrest.  Cassels was released on bond and is awaiting extradition to West Virginia.
