Virginia Senator Creigh Deeds is being treated in Charlottesville for what are being called "serious injuries." Deeds was reportedly stabbed "multiple times" inside his Bath County home.  That is according to Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.

During a news conference held at noon, it was released that Sen. Deeds was flown to the University of Virginia Medical Center where his condition was not released. Geller said that the senator's son, Gus Deeds, 24, died in the home from a gunshot wound.

Deeds ran unsuccessfully for the Governor's office four years ago.
