FAYETTEVILLE -

In Fayette County, concerned residents, county commissioners, and lawyers gathered to discuss rezoning property that belongs to Ace Adventure Resort.

The property in question is in the Minden and Rock Lick areas.

Ace Adventure Resort wants the land rezoned from Planned Development to Business and Tourism land.  Property owners are concerned that with the zone change, their land will be assessed at a much higher value and they won't be able to afford the taxes.

Another concern is safety with the roadways in the area.

Fayette County's Prosecuting Attorney sat in on the hearing and said the only land that will be rezoned is the land owned by Ace Adventure.

The land owned by the people living in those areas will stay residential and should not be taxed any higher.
