ENTERPRISE -

Jordan Lowe, 20, is an Enterprise resident who lives with her grandparents and sister.

In 2011 Lowe's life was changed completely.

"In April 2011, my boyfriend and I were coming back from dirt track racing, and it was about 1:30 a.m. and he fell asleep and then he woke up and cut the wheel too sharp and it rolled, and I broke my neck in two places," explained Lowe.

Lowe is now in a wheelchair but her grandmother said she hasn't let it get her down.

"This really hasn't changed her at all, with her disability. She's an inspiration to a lot of people," said Robin Hall, Lowe's grandmother and guardian.

After competing in beauty pageants throughout high school Jordan has decided to get back into competing and was recently named Ms. Wheelchair West Virginia.

"I did pageants when I was in high school and then when I got into my accident in April I didn't really have any interest anymore, but then I judged a pageant in Tucker County and it made me want to get back into it," said Lowe.

She said she learned about Ms. Wheelchair West Virginia and decided to apply.

She had to provide basic information, and also what her platform would be.

"Mine is to promote and educate people on the support that people with disabilities need. If I didn't have all the support that I have right now I don't know where I'd be. I had friends I met in rehab that family never came, and they needed the support to get where they are now," Lowe said.

Lowe will now move on to compete in Ms. Wheelchair USA in July.

She will make appearances all over the state to discuss her platform and the importance of it.
