We met 15 year old Dascia at the Monongalia County Canine Adoption Center because one day she would like to work with animals up for adoption.

I've just liked animals since I was younger. I feel like I can relate to them.

She's more of a cat person than a dog person, though.

Her favorite subjects in school are English and reading… and one teacher in particular has helped her develop her love for literature.

"She got me started on a lot of different series, like Maximum Ride by James Patterson and all the Hunger Games books and everything," Dascia said.

Though she reads a lot, Dascia doesn't have a favorite text.

"I don't really have a favorite book but I like reading about philosophy and psychology," she said.

Dascia said she'd like a family she can do anything and everything with, including travel. She's not even picky about brothers or sisters.

"Just a family that would… Have acceptance," Dascia said.

She would like a family that's would allow her to have at least one pet.

If you'd like to learn more about Dascia, or any child up for adoption in West Virginia, call Mission West Virginia at 866- CALL MWV Or you can send an email to adopt@mission wv.org.
