PRINCETON -
The Mercer County Board of Education announced on Monday that the Princeton Senior High School band will be playing at the West Virginia Capitol on Tuesday evening.

The Marching Band will perform on the south steps of the West Virginia Capitol Building at 6 p.m.  The band play during the arrival of Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and the First Lady.  The performance will include seasonal and patriotic selections during the tree lighting ceremony.

"The annual tree lighting is a big event for legislators, military personnel and area residents," said Band Director Julia Kade. "We will play for about 30 minutes and stay for a photo opportunity with the governor."

Kade said that the band actually received the invitation to play last spring from Randall Reid-Smith the West Virginia Commissioner of Culture and History.  Kade said the Princeton Senior High School Band will be joined by other musical ensembles, including choirs.
